SGT. ANDERSON OF STRATFORD KILLED JAN. 3

STRATFORD - Word has been received here by relatives that Sgt. Leonard V. Anderson,, son of Mrs. Luther Anderson, was killed in France Jan. 3.

Sergeant Anderson was attached to an infantry unit and had been overseas since February. No further details were given in a war department message received by his wife now residing in Des Moines.

The Stratford soldier, who was 30 years old, was a graduate of Stratford high school. Besides his wife and two daughters, he is survived by his mother, one brother, and four sisters, Ernest Anderson and Eunice of Stratford; Mrs. Floyd Bergeson of Des Moines, Mrs. Herbert Larson of Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Arnold Larson of Stratford.

[according to Find A Grave he was married to Bernice Elveda Sealine in 1933; his parents were David & Bessie Berglund Anderson; his father died in 1925 and his mother remarried Luther Anderson in 1938]
