Dorothy J. Siders, 80, was called home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2005.

She was born in Stanhope, Iowa [Dec 3, 1924 daughter of Milo Edvenson and Faye McFarland Edvenson Streb]. As a child she lived in Webster City, Iowa and remembered with great fondness the picnics and ballgames she shared with her family. She met and fell in love with Freddie Siders and they were married on March 25, 1940. They moved to Des Moines in 1952 and raised four children.

Dorothy enjoyed working crossword puzzles, shopping and watching the daytime soaps, especially "As the World Turns." She dearly loved her family and pets and will be so deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Freddie, her sons Fred Jr and infant son Joseph Hall, her parents, two brothers: Darwin and John Baker and a sister Anna Mae Caruth. She is survived by two brothers Dean (Mayrose) McFarland of St. Louis, Mo. and Gary (Ethel) Baker of Webster City, IA. Three daughters: Diane Hansen, Lee Ann Siders and Linda Jo (Terry) Leete all of Des Moines. A daughter-in-law, Hilde Siders of Omaha, NE. Five grandsons: Brad Taylor of California, Fred Siders, Andy (Deanna) Siders, Tony (Michelle) Siders all of Omaha, NE., and Jason Leete of Des Moines. Four granddaughters Shelly (Steve) Sholley of Des Moines, Tracy (Rudy) Lyons and Julie Siders both of Arizona and Jennifer Leete of Des Moines. Fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, IA., on Wednesday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
