Stuart M. Gastren, 67, died Sunday at Mary Greeley hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the United Federated Church of Christ with Dr. Carl Dille officiating and with burial in Evergreen cemetery and with Masonic rites at the grave. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral home until 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the church.

Stuart M. Gastren, son of Eddie and Emma Morrison Gastren, was born July 2, 1903 at Jewell. He attended Jewell high school and was graduated from Iowa State University at Ames, getting his master's degree at Michigan University.

He had been employed as a chemical engineer and had been residing part-time at Birmingham, Mich. He was formerly employed with DuPont and Kellogg's and for 25 years with General Motors, retiring in 1963.

He was married Dec. 31, 1927 to Clara Thompson at South Bend, Ind. Surviving are his wife and one cousin, Allen John Gastren of Los Angeles.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church at Birmingham.
