Clarence Olson, 94, Webster City, formerly of Jewell, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City. Funeral services were Monday morning at the Community Church of Kamrar with Pastor Todd Jones officiating. Burial was in the Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be sent to Emma Olson, 1004 Second St., Jewell. Becker Funeral Home in Jewell was in charge of arrangements.

Clarence William Olson was born Oct. 6, 1909 in Little Falls, Minn., to Jacob and Martha Roe Olson. Clarence grew up in the Ellsworth and Radcliffe area. On Jan. 22, 1942, Clarence married Emma Lucille Huisman in Princeton, Mo. They resided in the Ellsworth community where Clarence was a farm hand. Clarence loved farm work and working with turkeys. He retired in 1984. They moved to Jewell in 1989. Clarence attended the Community Church of Kamrar.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Emma Olson, Jewell; two daughters, Georgia (Don) Romp, Jewell and Glenda Olson (and friend Larry Mathre) Story City; five grandchildren, David Romp of Webster City, Chad (Lori) Romp of Ames, Lonny (Beckey) Witthuhn, Story City, Krista Hood, Phoenix, Ariz., and Shawna Check, Stanhope; nine great-grandchildren, Tiffany Larson of Fort Dodge, Alyssa Romp, Ames, Addison, Parker and Treyton Witthuhn, Story City; Haleigh and Cole Hood of Fort Dodge; Maryssa and Marcus Check of Stanhope. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and a sister.
