Word has been received of the death of Dorothy Evelyn Waite Stark, 75, a patient at the hospice center of Good Samaritan Hospital at West Palm Beach, Fla. The cause of death was cancer.

Cremation was requested and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Jewell.

Memorial services will be held for the family and friends on Saturday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Federated Church of Christ in Jewell.

Dorothy Stark was born Sept. 6, 1914 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Fred and Mabel Scheerer Waite.

On March 5, 1939 she married Harry (Curly) A. Stark. She and her husband owned and operated the Jewell Oil Company for 47 years until his death in 1967.

She formed the first P.T.A. in 1957 for the Jewell schools and also was president of the Music Boosters, building the bandstand and shelter house in the Jewell City Park. She gave several summers of her life starting the recreation and swimming programs. For two years, she served as president of the Senior Citizens and she spent four years as a board member of the Jewell Senior Citizens Housing Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Wulf of Huntley, Ill., and Nancy Akers of Lantana, Fla.; one son, Charles Stark of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Steve Waite of Buffalo Center and John Waite of Woodburn, Ore.; and two sisters, Betty Kiewiet of Buffalo Center and Eleanor Shytle of McLean, Va.

She was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell, a choir member, president of the Women's Fellowship for three years, and opened her home to three classes of Sunday school and youth fellowship.
