Clinton Olson, age 41, formerly of Ellsworth, IA, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 27th at 3:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, IA.

A family burial was at the Homewood Cemetery on Monday, March 28th.

Clint was born February 19th, 1981 in Ames, Iowa, to Wanda Doreen (Fortune) Olson and Randy Merritt Olson. Clint grew up in Ellsworth, Iowa, on the family turkey farm. He spent many years developing a strong work ethic working alongside his parents and siblings. Clint attended school at South Hamilton in Jewell, graduating in 1999. He was active in track, cross-country, basketball, speech competitions and band. He received awards and recognition in numerous activities.

Upon high school graduation, Clint attended Drake University and received a bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communications. While at Drake, Clint had the opportunity to study abroad in Sydney, Australia. He snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef and boated through Milford Sound in New Zealand. Clint was also a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity where he built many lasting friendships. Several years later, Clint obtained his Master of Business Administration from his alma mater, Drake University.

Clint was a gifted salesman and spent the majority of his career helping customers with consumer mortgage needs both as an individual contributor and in sales leadership. He had a strong ability to connect with customers across the country and form relationships. They trusted his expertise and enjoyed his wittiness and contagious humor. Clint was extremely driven and received numerous accolades for his sales abilities and talents during his career. At the mortgage companies, Clint formed unforgettable friendships with his co-workers and leadership. He was known for his positivity, contagious energy, determination and smile that welcomed everyone.

Clint enjoyed being outdoors, landscaping, developing his tennis skills, playing ping-pong, going to movies, listening to upbeat music, games with a foundation in strategy, and competing in dart tournaments.

Clint is survived by his parents, Wanda Olson of Ellsworth, and Randy Olson of Boone; grandparents Maxine Fortune of Webster City and Diane Sanders (Marlin) of Ellsworth; siblings Danielle Olson Lea (Nick) of Clive and Lucas Olson of Ellsworth. He was a beloved son, grandson and brother. Clint was deeply loved and will be missed by many.
