Wendell Sundin, 82, of Webster City, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. John Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the McGuire Bend Cemetery, northwest of Stratford. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.

Wendell Leroy Sundin, son of Victor and Elsie Anderson Sundin, was born Aug. 23, 1922 on a farm south of Stratford. He grew up in the Swede Bend area and also attended rural school in that area. He graduated from Stratford high school. He married Shirley Osborn and the couple farmed south of Stratford. To this union 3 sons and a daughter were born. The couple were later divorced. On September 28, 1957 he married Yola Ford Morgan at Northwood, Ia. The couple resided at Webster City. To this union a daughter was born. He had worked at Dickey Clay Company for 25 years. He also worked at Modern Farms, grain bin construction for 3 years. He then retired and continued to live at Webster City.

Mr. Sundin is survived by his wife Yola, sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Kathy Sundin of Fort Dodge, Leroy Sundin of Rolfe, Howard and Debbie Sundin of Storm Lake, daughter, Donna Capsel of Webster City; step-children, Sheila (Larry) Hoversten, James Morgan, all of Webster City; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joann Joy Sundin in 1965; brother, Lawrence Sundin.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God and enjoyed bowling.
