Dick Dodge, 78, of Webster City, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center has been entrusted with arrangements.

Henry Richard Dodge, son of John and Harriet Wheatley Dodge was born July 1, 1926 at Webster City, Iowa. He received his education from the Webster City Community Schools. Following his education, he entered the United States Navy, where he honorably served his country during WW II and the Korean War. On December 17, 1955 he married Marcella Rohner at Luverne, MN. The couple made their home in Webster City where Dick owned and operated Webster City Monument Company. He later sold the monument company in 1977 to Kalin Johnson Monuments of Fort Dodge. He remained employed with Webster City Monuments as manager, until his retirement in March of 1996.

Dick is survived by his wife, Marcella, daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Tim Wilaby of Webster City, Kris and Bill Smith of Lindley, NY.; son and daughter-in-law, John and Val Dodge of Webster City; grandsons, Johnathon, Christopher and Jared Wilaby, Brandon, Brett and Jeremy Smith, Adam Dodge and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Harriet Stark and Maryon Hayes.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
