Laverne Shaw, 80, of Webster City, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004 at Crestview Senior Living at Webster City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Boone, with Rev. Clem Currans, celebrant. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens at Boone. Visitation will be one hour before the Mass. Graveside Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center at Webster City.

Laverne Robert Shaw, son of John and Callie Holden Shaw, was born Dec. 2, 1923 at Madrid, Iowa. He received his education at the Sacred Heart school at Boone. On Aug. 14, 1948 he married Marjorie Jean Myers at Boone. They moved to Webster City in 1948 and he had been employed at Perry Williams Auto at Webster City, Swaney Motors at Fort Dodge and George White Auto at Ames. He retired in 1988.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Marjorie; and a sister, Betty Adreon of Eddyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tommy and Johnny Shaw; sisters, Agnes Shaw, Jeannette Wilson and Bernadine Collins.
