Charles F. Bahr Jr., 78, Sumner, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 following a lengthy illness at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Richfield, at rural Sumner with burial in the Richfield Cemetery. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, is in charge of arrangements.

Charles F. Bahr Jr. was born Nov. 18, 1926 at Alden. He received his education in country schools of the Williams area. He married Helen Hanson on Sept. 1, 1946 at Clarion. The couple farmed near Dows for seven years and then for 13 years near Woolstock. In 1966, they moved to the Richfield area near Sumner where they farmed until retirement in 1988.

Survivors are his wife, Helen, Sumner; two sons, Timothy (Sharon) Bahr, Hawkeye; Mark (Lois) Bahr, Sumner; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Melvin (MaryAnn) Bahr, Mineral Point, Wis.; one sister, Esther Srigley, Hampton; two brothers-in-law, Laverne Stoppelmoor of Dows; and Dale LaRue of Richland Center, Wis.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother-in-law.
