C.L. McKibben, 94, long-time resident of the Webster City community, died this morning at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient the past week. For the past four and one-half years he had resided at Crestview Manor.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Arthur A. Oswald officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Carlos L. McKibben, son of Edward and Martha McKibben, was born April 23, 1874 on a farm in Morgan county, Ohio, and was reared and educated in Morgan county.

In 1908, he moved to Iowa and engaged in farming in the Webster City area. He was united in marriage January, 1913 to Lina Tompkins West, and the couple resided for many years on the McKibben farm one and one-half miles northwest of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his wife March 17, 1962; by one step-daughter, Mrs. Grace Weseloh; by his parents and four brothers.

Surviving are one step-daughter, Mrs. Eva Hall of Sidney, Mont.; five grandchildren, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Brisbin of Webster City, Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Kehm and Robert Weseloh, both of Fort Dodge; Mrs. Hal (Betty) Martindale, Golden, Colo., Edward Hall, McKinleyville, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McKibben was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church in Webster City.
