Marilyn J. Olson, 71, Webster City, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Kathy Graves, director of Spiritual Care Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Interment will be in Elmwoods-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Marilyn J. Olson Memorial Fund.

Marilyn was born July 27, 1933 in Mason City, the daughter of Clifford and Anna Christiansen Baumgartner. She graduated from Mason City High School. Marilyn married James W. Olson on May 1, 1954 in Mason City. They moved to Wesley in 1954 and then to Webster City in 1995. Marilyn worked in telephone sales for Directory Service for 10 years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and plates, sewing and crocheting.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, James W. Olson of Webster City; son, James D. Olson and wife Vicki, Webster City; daughter Annette Askeland and husband Bernard, Wesley; son, Daryl Olson and wife Elizabeth, Norwalk; son, Daniel Olson and wife Teresa, Kanawha; sister Anita Legler, Mason City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marilyn's parents, sister, LaVaun Pinckney and brother, Rollin Dean Baumgartner preceded her in death.
