Robert W. Hansch, 83, Duncombe, died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. David Deckard, pastor of Washington Lutheran Church officiating. Interment of cremains will be at the Washington Township Cemetery in Duncombe. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.

Surviving is his wife, Doris; daughter Cathy Waugh of Bayard, Neb., grandchildren, Jeannie Erickson and Jody Finks, both of California, great-grandchildren, Erica Finks and Nicholas Finks. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Freida Dencklau Hansch, and brothers, Donald and Raymond.

Robert Walter Hansch was born on Dec. 23, 1920 at Colfax Township. He attended country school in Colfax Township. On Nov. 25, 1942 he was united in marriage to Doris Ness at the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe. After their marriage, Bob and Doris farmed in the Thor area and they later moved near Duncombe where they farmed for the next nine years. He then became employed for Wisconsin Lumber in Duncombe, which he later became part owner of, and the company became known as H & K Lumber. In 1981, Bob retired from the lumber business and returned to farming full time until his retirement in 1996.

Bob was a long time member of the Fort Dodge Bowling Associates, a member of the Fort Dodge Bowling Hall of Fame, the Elks Lodge for 42 years, the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe, and past member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling, hunting, fishing and joking.
