Richard Elias Stapp, Jr., 18, Webster City, died Saturday, May 17 of gunshot wounds.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Rev. Richard Laird, pastor of the New Testament Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Friends may call Laufersweiler Funeral Home in Fort Dodge after 2 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight, May 19 at the funeral home.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dykstra, sisters Mrs. Terry (Debra) Nessa of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Jerry (Angela) Hartnett of Webster City, brother Robert at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Stapp and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Graham all of Webster City.

His father, Richard Elias Stapp Sr., preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 1984.

He was born in Rock Rapids and attended schools there. In 1977, he moved to Webster City with his parents. He attended Elm Park Grade School, Webster City Junior High and was a junior at Webster City High School at the time of his death. He was a member of the wrestling and baseball teams. During the summer months, he was employed with the Iowa Youth Corps.
