Jean Brandrup Bradway, 98, of Webster City, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Webster City, with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Jean McPhillips, daughter of John and Grace Rigdon McPhillips, was born October 12, 1905 at Webster City. She received her education in Webster City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1922. She married Maris Brandrup on June 23, 1923. He died on July 8, 1967. They had one son, Maris Donald Brandrup, Jr. who passed away on February 4, 1982. Jean worked at the office of the Fred Hahne Printing Company and Angus Journal for over 44 years retiring in January of 1968 as Business Manager of both corporations.

She was a former member of the Webster City Business and Professional Womens Club, Webster City Country Club, Hamilton County Saddle Club and Iowa Press Women. She was one of the founders of the American Angus Auxiliary and Scholarship Fund for Children of Angus Breeders. She was named a Distinguished Woman of the Angus Auxiliary for her work with women and children's activities and projects.

After her retirement, she moved to Tucson, AZ. On July 18, 1970 she married Frank Bradway at the Dove of Peace Lutheran Church in Tucson. The couple resided in Tucson for 27 years. Mr. Bradway died on October 30, 2001.

In addition to her husbands and son, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Marian McCormick of Los Molinos, CA and Marcella Patton of Colorado Springs, CO.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Groves of Eagle Grove; grandsons Mike and wife Patricia Brandrup of Webster City, John Brandrup of International Falls, MN, great granddaughters, Paula Bahrenfuss and Holly Brownfield; great great grandchildren, Robyn and Kelsey Bahrenfuss and Cole Brownfield and several nieces and nephews.
