Nick Nail, 47, Fort Dodge, died Friday, May 12, 2000 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge with Rev. Melvin Ammon, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Nick Nail was born July 14, 1952 at Webster City. He attended Wall Lake Country School until the 4th grade and then attended Clarion Community School where he later graduated. He attended Iowa Central Community College and earned an associates degree. In 1973, he married Julie Lock in Clarion, and they made their home in Fort Dodge. He was employed at KVFD-TV from 1973-1977. Starting in 1977, he was self-employed in his own construction business, operated under the name of Nail Construction Co. He was a member of the Fort Dodge Swim Club and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Julie, a daughter, Sara, both of Fort Dodge, and his mother, Betty Nail of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Nail, grandparents Allen and Marie Nail and Eva and Russell Dinsdale.
