Fred Trask, 81, of Webster City, died on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Duncombe.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with a Rosary at 3:45 p.m. Fred Marvin Trask, Webster City, IA, was born April 28, 1941. He was raised in Lehigh by parents Glen and Elsie (Benton) Trask. After graduating high school in 1960 he served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. Fred and Sharyn Schumacher were married May 14, 1966, at St. Joseph Church in Duncombe.

Fred worked at United Coop, Flugstad and Highview for 53 years. He enjoyed weekend shopping trips, spending time with his grandkids, tinkering in the garage and driving around the county with Andy.

Fred completed the Iowa Freedom Rock Tour, seeing the Freedom Rocks in all 99 counties. He was even able to visit two in Minnesota, and one in Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Missouri.

Fred is survived by his children: Andy Trask, and Kelly Trask, both of Webster City, and David (Amy) Trask of Jewell; grandchildren: Emmaly, Teagan, Kaylen and Adelyn Trask; brother, Lee (DeeAnn) Trask of Lehigh; sisters, Glenda Harris of Blairsburg, Catherine Redling of Webster City, and Bessie Trask of Kamrar; brothers-in-law, Robert (Phyllis) Schumacher of Iowa Falls, and Dick Schumacher of New Virginia; sisters-in-law Judy Schumacher of Clare, and Mary Sue Brighi of CO.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharyn; his parents; parents-in-law, Carlisle and Charlotte Schumacher; sister, Margaret Day; brothers-in-law, Gary Schumacher, Richard Brighi, Dean Harris, Sterling Redling, Ken Holder; sister and brother-in-law Norma and Chuck Doyle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Fred’s honor may be given to the Brushy Creek Honor Flight or left to the discretion of the family.
