Charles Frederick Seagren, 78, of Webster City, died on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at his home. A visitation will be held at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.

Charles was born on January 20, 1944, in Curlew, Iowa to Alven and Evelyn (Rouse) Seagren. After graduating from the Twin Rivers High School, He entered the US Navy, and served until 1966. He was on the USS Holder and the USS Merrick and earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam) and National Defense Medal.

On July 11, 1969, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Arnold in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Charles worked at Seneca Foundry for 20 years, Arrow Acme for two years, and Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation for 15 years.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and polka music, which he listened to every Sunday. For Charles family came first above all else.

Charles’ family includes: wife Shirley; children Diane (Myron) Ramirez of Kingsland, GA, David (Maria) Seagren of Brownsville, TX and Nathaniel (Cynthia) Seagren of Webster City, IA; grandchildren: Marina Seagren, Maranda Seagren, Jeffrey (Brittany) Rea, Myron (Julie) Ramirez; great grandchildren: Aiden Seagren, Calder Seagren, Mateo Seagren, Brantley Rea, Colton Rea, Brooke Ramirez, Dominic Ramirez and Mia Ramirez; brothers: Wayne (LaRinda) Seagren, and David (Linda) Seagren; brother in law Perry (Becky) Arnold; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; stillborn baby twins (boy and girl); sisters: Maybin Meyers and Virginia Karschnik; and nephews: Michael Meyers and Patrick Meyers.
