Isabelle Ahrens, 85, Crestview Senior Living Center, died of heart failure on June 15, 2003. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stanhope Parish Church in Stanhope. Burial will be in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time. Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Boone on Oct. 14, 1917, the daughter of Grover and Carried Nixon Crouse. Isabelle graduated from Boone High School in 1936. On July 26, 1941 she married John B. Ahrens in Nevada. The couple farmed in rural Boone. She moved to Webster City after the death of her husband. She was a member of the Stanhope Parish Church. She enjoyed reading and collecting teddy bears.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant daughter. She is survived by a brother, Grover Crouse Jr., and his wife, Georgia of Boone; two nephews, Bill and Tim Crouse, both of Boone.

Memorials may be given to her church.
