Irene N. Kolbeck, 92, Clinton, a former longtime Webster City resident, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at her daughter's home in Clinton. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by cremation. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.

Irene Norma Pletcher, daughter of Ralph and Evelyn Knight Pletcher, was born Jan. 25, 1911 on a farm south of Clarion. She received her education in rural schools and at Clarion. On April 27, 1933 she married Harry Jesse Kolbeck at Clarion. The couple resided in Webster City. She had been employed at JC Penney's at Webster City for several years. Mr. Kolbeck died on May 20, 1973. She had resided at Clinton since 1999.

Mrs. Kolbeck is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Kay Wilson of Spencer; Gary Kolbeck of Atlanta, GA.; Dennis and Sandy Kolbeck of Alleman, David and Judy Kolbeck of Waterloo; two daughters and son-in-law, Carol Knoll of Cedar Rapids, Roxann and Bruce Hadaway of Clinton; 22 grandchildren, four sisters, Cleo Bosworth of Webster City; Eura Marrs of Oaklawn, Ill.; Eva Peyton of Aredale, Evea Laurisch of Oakbrook, Ill., son-in-law Everett Stahl of Webster City; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, James Kolbeck; daughter, Dorothy Stahl; parents; sisters, Geneva Pletcher and Charlotte Amosson; brother Eldon Pletcher and son-in-law, Richard Knoll.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Webster City Senior Citizens Club; a hospice volunteer and TLC.

Memorials may be directed to the Senior Citizens Club or Meals on Wheels of Webster City.
