Jeanette Blake, 76, Webster City, died Saturday, March 22 at her home. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Asbury United Methodist Church or Hospice of Hamilton County.

Katherine Jeanette Samuelson, daughter of Nels and Gertrude Owens Samuelson, was born July 21, 1926 at Axtell, KS. As a child, she moved to Hamilton County with her parents. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City and attended Iowa State University. On August 17, 1947 she married Dale Sheldon Blake in Webster City. The couple resided in Ames. The couple started farming south of Webster City in 1951. In 1954, they moved to a farm north of Webster City, and in 1967, they moved to the family farm in Cass Township. Mr. Blake died on Sept. 15, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steve Caddel of Lexington, Ky., daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bargsten Blake of Utica, Neb.; grandchildren, Seth, Cory and Sam Blake, Katey and Jessica Caddel and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Dale, she was preceded in death by her son, Don Dwain Blake, infant daughter Ann Elizabeth Blake, sister, Jane Ann Pitsor, brother Nels Samuelson Jr., and her parents.

Mrs. Blake was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and Chapter JE of the PEO.
