Max Doolittle, 83, Montgomery, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Rush-Copley Medical Center with his loving family by his bedside. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. with interment in the Lincoln Park Memorial Park Cemetery. The Dieterle Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Dec. 23, 1919 in Webster City, the son of the late Lloyd and Lottiebelle Morrison Doolittle. He was a member of the Methodist Church, U.S. Army Air Force serving in World War II and the Montgomery VFW Post 7452. Mr. Doolittle was a farmer in Iowa for over 15 years, became a bartender and was employed at the Office in Aurora for several years, and was finally employed at Richard Wilcox in Aurora until his retirement in 1987, as an assistant foreman.

Max is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marilyn Logue Doolittle, Montgomery, Ill., his three daughters, Caroline Bromm of Asheville, NC, Lynn Doolittle of Deland, Fla., and Shelley Doolittle of Oswego, Ill., his step daughter Lynn (Jim) Williams of Naperville, Ill., and a stepson, Donald (Diane) Barrow of Montgomery, Ill., his brother Donald (Shirley) Doolittle of Duncombe, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret L. Doolittle in 1965, his parents; a granddaughter Karen Doolittle; a sister Lois Radoff and a nephew, James Doolittle.
