Emily L. Fisher, 91, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003 at the Hiawatha Care Center at Hiawatha. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Rubendall officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, west of Eagle Grove.

Emily L. Horton, daughter of Harvey and Edith McVicker Horton, was born May 15, 1911 at Eagle Grove. She received her education in the Eagle Grove Public Schools and graduated in 1930. She started working as a housekeeper. On August 20, 1936, she married Roy Fisher at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed east of Eagle Grove until 1962 when they retired to Webster City. She had worked at Morton Frozen Foods and at the Hamilton Hospital as a dietician. Mr. Fisher died July 12, 1975. She continued to reside at Webster City. She moved to Cedar Rapids in September, 2002.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Peggy Fisher of Cedar Rapids; daughters and sons-in-law, Doreen Myers of Jacksonville, NC., Racheal and Cliff Carpenter, Lawrenceville, GA; Gloria and Gary Rubendall of Burleson, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Daisy Grandgeorge of Britt, IA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson; brothers, Harvey and Russell Horton; sisters, Shirley and Eunice Withers and son-in-law, Richard Myers.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and the Webster City Senior Citizen Club.
