Ed C. (Bud) Anderson, Tucson, Ariz., passed away April 15, 2002. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. Internment will be later at Calvary Cemetery.

Ed C. (Bud) Anderson, the son of Nels Guss and Anna (Heidick) Anderson, was born Dec. 31, 1917 in Fremont Township. He attended school at Mud Hollow and graduated from Webster City High School in 1935.

He is survived by: his wife, Margaret, six children, Dick, Carol Proctor and Dennis, all of Arizona, and Kathy Hisler, Bill and Mike, all of Iowa; 14 grandchildren,, 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Stearns, Webster City; and a niece, Beth Stearns, Bettendorf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons; Mark Edward and John Michael.

Bud was a farmer in Fremont Township and was instrumental in the addition of Fremont Township into the Webster City School District in 1952. He was a 4-H leader for 25 years and served on the Hamilton County Extension Council. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Grand Knight. He also belonged to the Webster City Country Club.
