Hazel Beightol, 88, Fort Dodge, formerly of Webster City, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at the Villa Care Center at Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Hazel Delila Hoover, daughter of Albert and Edna Crouse Hoover, was born on Nov. 26, 1913 at Burnside. On May 7, 1938 she married Mert Merrill Beightol of Nashua. She attended Rechard Rural School south of Duncombe. The couple farmed in the Dayton, Homer and Webster City area. They moved to Webster City in 1945. She worked for several years at Hamilton Hospital as a nurses aide and later as a home health aide in the Webster City area. Mr. Beightol died on May 2, 1960.

Mrs. Beightol is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Merrill and Martha Beightol of Eagle Grove, Franklin and Dolores Beightol of Cedar Creek, Texas; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Hoover of Lehigh; sister, Reola Nordholm of Pilot Mound, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, (Mert), she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Verval Davis, Velva Fevold, Della Ewing and LaVonne Hoover, brothers, Verle and Raymond Hoover. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Royal Neighbors of America.
