[This was found when searching for more information about her - Paula was also honored by her Friends from Facilities Planning and Management. She was an employee at ISU in the Facilities Planning and Management from 1987 - 1998 and the Fire Service Training Bureau from 1998 - 2002. Paula's life was about sharing with her family, friends and coworkers. She loved life and treasured her family; leading a full life to the very end. As a devoted wife and mother, she cherished each moment with her family, sharing with them her love of horses, camping and the outdoors.

She had great strength and demonstrated it in many ways in the face of insurmountable odds. She demonstrated courage beyond anything we could imagine in her struggle with cancer. Even when the ravages of the disease would bring her to her knees, she could find the strength to fight it off and rise up one more time. She touched and enriched the lives of everyone who knew her and we will always find comfort in her memory. She will stand as an example to all of us forever--a true Heroine.

She is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Meredith and son Zachary.]

[Iowa State University has a Plaza of Heroines in the Carrie Chapman Catt Hall and this is where you will find her brick]
