Raynard E. Hisler Sr., 84, Webster City, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with graveside military rites to be conducted by the American Legion Post #191. There will be no visitation. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Raynard Edmond Hisler Sr., son of Edmond and Clementine Emmendoerfer Hisler, was born August 1, 1918 at Woolstock, Iowa. He attended Webster City Schools, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1937. He enlisted in the U S Army Corps and served as a radio operator with the 1st Staff SQ HQ, AAF, Bolling Air Base, Washington, DC., the forerunner of Andrews Air Base, MD. Following his discharge, he returned to Webster City and was employed as an abstracter for Security Title and Loan Company, and later with Crosley and Boeye Inc. He married Violet Peterson on Sept. 21, 1947 in Webster City. He was a city letter carrier with the U S Postal Service for 31 years before his retirement in 1980. He continued to reside in Webster City.

Survivors include sons, Raynard Jr and Randy Hisler of Webster City, daughters and sons-in-law, Constance and Bruce Miller of Sartell, Minn., Sandra and Jim Hodges of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Kristie and Doug Carlson, Madrid, Renee and Rich Lange of Des Moines, two granddaughters and five step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet on May 25, 1993, his parents, three sisters and a grandson. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City.

Memorials may be directed to Congregate Meals, 749 Second St., Webster City, Iowa.
