Evelyn Wagner, 87, Webster City, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002 at Crestview Manor. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the service on Thursday.

Evelyn Bonita Brown, daughter of George and Daisy Sweazy Brown, was born May 25, 1915 at Webster City. She was educated at Webster City schools. On August 12, 1932 she married Walter William Wagner. The couple resided at Vincent, then moved to Webster City in 1944. She had been employed at McGilligan's Restaurant for 9 years, Anthony's Clothing for 11 years and the Gold Room Restaurant for several years. Mr. Wagner died March 26, 1981. She had resided at Crestview since May of 1999.

Mrs. Wagner is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sally Wagner of Delano, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sister, Connie Hilpipre, Creighton, Neb.; son-in-law Dean Hoshaw of Riverside, Calif., daughter-in-law Rosie Wagner of Kamrar, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Wagner; daughter Joyce Hoshaw; her parents, sisters Gloria Young, Bev Berleen, LaVonne Samuell, brothers, Bob, Delbert, Donald, Fred, Charles, Gatewood and Francis Brown.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
