Oswald "Ossie" Alvern Danielson, 82, Excelsior Springs, Mo., formerly of Ellsworth, died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at the Valley Manor Rehabilitation Center, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Jewell. Burial will follow in Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth. Visitation will be from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are through Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo.

Oswald Danielson, the oldest child of Ole and Mona Metcalf Danielson, was born on the family farm northeast of Ellsworth on March 20, 1920. Oswald was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1937 and then farmed with his father until he got married. Oswald was married to Ada Imo Gene "Imy" Rude on August 14, 1943. Through their love and commitment, 7 children were born. They moved to the Jewell area where Ossie farmed and operated his own trucking and corn shelling business. Over the years, Ossie also had driven for Tapper Truck Line, Parks Trucking, Baker Trucking and the Ellsworth Co-Op. Ossie was a 4-H leader and also served on the township ASCS Committee. Ossie and Imy bought the Lou Danielson farm in 1966 and moved northeast of Ellsworth. Oswald was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell.

Oswald is survived by his children and their spouses; Ona Mae and Steve Lettow, Alden; David and Treva Danielson, Omaha, Neb.; Winnie and Craig Nessa, Excelsior Springs, Mo., Frank Danielson, Boise, Idaho; Steve and Kathy Danielson, Knoxville; Kay Lynn and Mike Sharples, Johnson City, Tenn; and Jim and Jackie Danielson, Villa Park, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Duane and Raymond of Ellsworth; and sisters, Anna Marie (Mrs. Francis) LeMaster, and Avis (Mrs. John) Moody, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives. His parents, his wife, Imy, and his brother Howard preceded him in death.
