Delbert Harvey, 80, Galesburg, died Dec. 8, 1996 at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Private family graveside services will be held Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Military rites will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post No. 246. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel of Galesburg is in charge of arrangements.

Delbert R. Harvey, son of James and Mary Belle Gates Harvey, was born Jan. 13, 1916 in Blairsburg. On Aug. 20, 1940 he married Bessie C. Parrish in Nashua. He was the owner and operator of Harvey Brothers in Galesburg for 54 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Force.

He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Larry (Jacquelyn) Davis, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Paul (Rita) Sandborg, Galesburg, Ill., three grandchildren; and brother, Richard Harvey, Indianapolis, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Harvey was a member of the American Legion Post No. 285 of Galesburg and was a former member of the Elks Club of Galesburg.
