Sherry Welsh, 68, of Webster City, died Friday, June 3, 2005 at the Israel Family Hospice House at Ames. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Rev. John Flaherty, celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday, followed by a scripture service.

Sherry Ann Allen, daughter of John and Freda Waggoner Allen, was born September 12, 1936 at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system. On September 17, 1952 she married Lloyd John (Al) Welsh at Des Moines. The couple resided at Webster City. She had been employed at Sears, Thompson Pharmacy and the Al Welsh Music Center. Mr. Welsh died March 29, 1989. After Mr. Welsh's death, she managed the Al Welsh Orchestra for 15 years. She also had worked at the Dance Connection for 15 years. She had been employed at HyVee for 15 years, both in the deli and as a cashier.

Sherry is survived by sons, Allen Welsh of Iowa City; Michael Welsh of Las Vegas, NV.; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and James Simonson of Littleton, CO; Kim and Wes Willson and Jeanna Bentley, all of Webster City; grandchildren, Melissa Willson of Waterloo; Mallory Willson of Cedar Rapids; Matthew and Scott Simonson of Littleton, CO; Ayslyn Bentley of Webster City; sisters, Betty Ulstad of Fort Dodge; Sondrae Fort of Iowa City; aunt, Bonnie Rasmussen of Webster City; 3 nephews and a niece. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and a former member of the Sweet Adelines.
