Bernard "Bud" Baker, 75, of Webster City, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center.

Bernard Derrall Baker, son of Glenwood and Pearl Hatcher Baker, was born on January 1, 1930 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He received his education at the Council Bluffs Community Schools. During WWII, he honorably served his country in the US Airforce. Following his discharge, he resided in Council Bluffs. He later moved to Texas, where he had resided in Pasadena and Sherman. He was employed as a truckdriver for many years. He moved to Webster City in 1998. On October 17, 1998 he married Nancy Crouch in Webster City. He was most recently employed by the Daily Freeman Journal and the Fort Dodge Messenger Newspapers.

Bud is survived by his wife, Nancy, sons Robert and Bernard Baker, all of Webster City, daughters Dawnie Rey Osborn of Creston, Cindy Carter of Houston, TX, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brother, Jack Baker of Sherman, TX. and his sister, Wanda Jackson of East Orange, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Glenwood Baker, one brother and one sister.

Bud was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman, TX.
