Leo Gingery, 78, Webster City, died Monday, July 22 at the Hamilton County Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, July 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Rev. James Duster officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Foster Funeral Home, where visitation is after 5 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Thursday.

Leo Joseph Gingery, son of John and Susanna (Halligan) Gingery, was born March 22, 1913 in Webster City, where he attended schools and graduated from Webster City High School in 1931. He was then employed with his brother at Gingery Produce. He married Vona Rollins on May 2, 1937 in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City, later moving to Chicago, Ill., where they lived for four years and Mr. Gingery was employed at Borg Warner. They returned to Webster City where he was employed as a tool and die maker for Seneca Foundry. He was later employed at Beams (now WCI). For 25 years he was employed at Avco-New Idea in Fort Dodge. He returned to WCI and retired in March 1977.

He is survived by his wife, Vona, Webster City; two sons, Gary Gingery, El Paso, Texas and Richard Gingery, Hayward, Wis., three grandchildren, Christopher, Julie and Melissa; two sisters, Ruth Eversz, Hemet, Calif., and Evelyn Nordstrom, Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Mr. Gingery was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was a former member of the Izaak Walton League and Knights of Columbus of Webster City.
