Williams Wasp, Webster City, Iowa, Wednesday, May 18, 1904

Benjamin Bergeson was born in Lasalle Co., Illinois March 9th, 1860. At the age of 9 years he removed with his parents to Mission, Illinois, and resided there until 1880, when he moved to Iowa. In the year 1882 he was married to Miss Carrie Mikelson [Mickelson] of Haxley [Huxley], Iowa, when he located at Ellsworth, Iowa where he resided until the year 1900. He then with his family moved to Williams where he lived until the date of his death, May 10th, 1904 at 10 o'clock p.m., he having attained the age of 44 years, 2 months, 1 day. The funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church in Williams by Rev. Eastvold of Jewell assisted by the Presbyterian and Methodist ministers of this place after which the remains were taken to Ellsworth and further services were held in the Ellsworth Lutheran church conducted by Rev. Eastvold assisted by Rev. Forthum. He leaves to mourn his early departure a loving wife and eight children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bergeson, also one sister and three brothers. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery east of Ellsworth.
