Mark Anderson, 42, Mesa, Arizona, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at St. Joseph's Trauma Center after suffering fatal injuries while competing in a motocross race.

The son of Ed (Bud) and Margaret Anderson, he was born on Sept. 1, 1959 in Webster City, Iowa. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1978 and had lived in Arizona since 1984.

Survivors include: his parents, now of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Mandy Rowe; four brothers Dick Anderson, Phoenix, Ariz., Dennis Anderson, Tucson, Ariz., Bill Anderson, Clarion, Iowa and twin brother Mike Anderson, Story City, Iowa; two sisters Kathy Hisler, Webster City, Iowa and Carole Proctor, Tucson, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews; two step granddaughters, and special friend Cheryl Culbreth.

A Memorial Mass was held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tempe on Dec. 5, 2001. His cremains will be interred at Calvary Cemetery, Webster City, at a later date.
