Blanche Doyle, 84, Williams, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001 at her home. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Williams with Rev. Rick Layman officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery in Williams. Surls Funeral Home in Williams was in charge of arrangements.

Blanche Marie Jaynes, daughter of Oliver and Helen Mourlam Jaynes, was born March 21, 1917 at Alden. She graduated from Williams High School in 1935. She worked as a secretary in the Williams School System and was a store clerk in the grocery store at Williams. She married Eugene "Dewey" Doyle at Mason City on July 17, 1944.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene "Dewey" Doyle; two sons, Terry Doyle and wife Susan of Ames, Dick Doyle and wife Linda of Story City; three granddaughters, Angela Hewitt and husband Chris of Jewell, Alison Doyle of Ames, Abby Doyle of Pella; four grandsons, Cayle Doyle of Iowa City; Tim Doyle of Ames, Kevin and Travis Doyle of Story City; two great-grandchildren, C.J. Hewitt, Jewell and Tyler Doyle of Ames, and a sister Velma Pelz of Blairsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Earl Jaynes and two sisters Nellie Cheyne and Leona Wood.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Williams and American Legion Auxiliary Post #633.
