William C. McCormick, 84, Webster City, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. John Flaherty, celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friday, followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m.

William Charles McCormick, son of James and Mary (Madge) Ashmore McCormick, was born May 17, 1917 at Churdan. He received his education in rural schools west of Williams and graduated from Williams High School. He also attended Webster City Junior College. He farmed in the Williams, Fort Dodge, Duncombe, Blairsburg and Vincent areas. He had wintered in California and Florida.

He is survived by his sisters, Madgel Cleveland, Waddy, Ky., Rachel Bowery, Omaha, Neb., nieces and nephews, Michael McCormick of Des Moines, Rick, Bill and Dan McCormick, Webster City; Jeff McCormick of Lakeview, Minn., Donald and Bridget Bowery of Omaha, James McCormick III of Story City, M.J. and Murray Cleveland and Caroline Collins, all of Frankfort, Ky., Catherine Catlett of Lexington, Ky., John Cleveland of Blackey, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Ralph P. Bowery; brothers Patrick (Max) and Edward (Ned) McCormick.

Mr. McCormick was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. The family requests that memorials be given to the St. Thomas Parish Center.
