Norma Loring, 70, Webster City, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001 at the Hamilton Hospital. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. James Buffington officiating. The ashes will be buried at a later date. Visitation will be prior to the memorial service.

Norma Jean Matthews, daughter of Russell and Irene Baughman Matthews, was born March 9, 1931 at Blairsburg. She received her education at Blairsburg Public Schools. On Dec. 19, 1953, she married Thomas Willard Loring at Blairsburg. The couple farmed east of Webster City. She had been employed at the Freeman-Journal, and for several years, at the Farm Journal. Mr. Loring died Oct. 12, 1995.

Mrs. Loring is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Diane Loring of Willis Wharf, Va., Brent and Elaine Loring of Iowa Falls, Brian and Doreen Loring of Iowa City, Bryce and Joan Loring of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren, a great-grandson, two nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Richard and Robert Matthews.

She was a member of First Congregational Church and T.T.T.
