Walter Henry Redling, 91, of Jewell, IA died July 12, 2021 at Stratford Specialty Care Center in Stratford, Iowa.

Walter was born on July 16, 1929 in rural Jewell, IA to Peter A and Bernice (Musselwhite) Redling.

He graduated from Jewell High School in 1948 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries received during battle.

Walter was baptized in the Methodist tradition. He was involved in farming during his life along with raising sheep.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mabel and Martha.

Walter is survived by two nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday July 19 at 2:00 pm at the Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral home in Jewell and burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.
