It is with great sadness that the family of James "Jim" Richard Thayer announce his passing on September 26, 2021.

Jim was born on August 30, 1965 in Mason City, IA to Carolyn (nee Orvedal) and Richard Thayer.

After graduating from South Hamilton High School in Jewell and Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Jim went on to live and work all around the US, including Washington D.C., Kansas City, MO, and Des Moines, IA before returning to his hometown of Jewell, IA.

Jim will be remembered by his parents; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlene (Patrick) Bergan of Overland Park, KS, Debra "Debbie" Quackenbush of Honeoye Falls, NY, and Shellie (Al) Johnson of Randall, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Paige and Brooke Bergan, Ryan, Evan and Lily Quackenbush, Annie and Katie Johnson, as well as many other friends, family and his pets.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 15 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home 512 Main Street Jewell IA.
