ADOLPH SCHROEDER, 87, of Reston, Virginia, died Thurs. Nov 28, 2002 at the Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Reston, VA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Graveside Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #191. There were visitation at Foster Funeral Home prior to the services.

Adolph Albert Schroeder, son of Henry and Anna Henricks Schroeder, was born May 2, 1915 at Pleasant Dale, NE. He attended Pleasant Dale Schools until moving to Iowa in 1939. He farmed in the Independence Township of Hamilton County. On April 4, 1942, he married Eleanore Louise Bahrenfuss at Rolla, MO. He entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed in the South Pacific Theatre of Action. Following his discharge, the couple continued farming until moving to Webster City in 1977. Mr. Schroder worked as a carpenter and a truck driver until his retirement. Mrs. Schroder died Dec. 24, 1996. In April of 1977, he moved to Oakton, VA.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & Jim Elkin of Oakton, VA.; granddaughter, Jodi Aase of Apple Valley, MN., Jana Elkin of Oakton, VA. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Eleanore, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Earl, Roy, Walter Schroeder.

Mr. Schroeder was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City.
