Funeral services for Raymond George Roe, 73, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Charles W. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of service.

Mr. Roe, a former Webster City resident, more recently of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 15 at Iowa Lutheran Medical Center in Des Moines.

Raymond George Roe, son of Cleo and Edith McHone Roe, was born Jan. 28, 1914 in Boone County. He was educated at Napier and was married to Lelia Bahrenfuss, on June 11, 1936 at Webster City.

The couple resided at Webster City where he was employed by the Butternut Bread Company. Following the death of Mrs. Roe in March 1974 he married Thelma Helms on Nov. 27, 1974 at Truro.

The couple resided there where he was employed for Armstrong Tires for six years, retiring in 1975. The couple moved to Rogers in 1981.

Survivors are his wife of Rogers; two sons and one daughter Leland of Ames, Velva (Mrs. Don) Weir of Des Moines, and Buryl of Escondido, Calif; one step-daughter, Nadine (Mrs. Bob) Brown of Rogers; nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Roy of Webster City, Marvin of Ennis, Texas; four sisters, Helen (Mrs. Claude) Houseman of Luther, Margaret Phillips of Lufkin, Texas, Ida (Mrs. Henry) Oakes of Des Moines and Mary (Mrs. Art) Brine of Woodridge, Ill.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

He was a member of the Mulberry Center Methodist Church and the Bentonville, Ark. Senior Citizens.
