Elmer Bruns, 60, a longtime resident of the Blairsburg-Webster City community, died early this morning at the Methodist hospital in Rochester, Minn., where he had been a patient since Sunday. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. Arthur A. Oswald officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. Friday, when it will be taken to the church.

Elmer Theodore Bruns, son of Theodore and Tillie Dittmer Bruns, was born Jan. 23, 1913 at Johnson county, Mo. where he was reared and educated.

He was united in marriage Jan. 23, 1938 to Mae Bahrenfuss, and the couple made their home in Kamrar for four years, moving then to the Blairsburg-Webster City community where they continued farming.

He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Erna Foster of Concordia, Mo., and Mrs. Fred (Helen) Weinrich of Warrensburg, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Missouri and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Webster City.
