Elmer Larson Jr., 83, Clear Lake, died Jan. 17, 2001 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. There will be no visitation. It was Mr. Larson's request to be cremated and his remains will be scattered at sea. A memorial service will be held in the spring. The Major Erickson Funeral House and Crematory in Mason City was in charge of arrangements.

Elmer Larson Jr., son of Elmer and Lila Miller Larson, was born June 10, 1917 at Woolstock. He attended school in the Woolstock area and was a graduate. He married Edith I. Knapp on Nov. 18, 1937 at Fort Dodge. They lived in the Stanhope and Des Moines area. They moved to Eldora in 1972 where they owned the Rainbow Lounge. In 1982, they retired and moved to Clear Lake, where Elmer enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Survivors are his four daughters, Mary Rowland, Cedar Park, Texas, Karen Larson, Boise, Idaho, Michelle Larsen, Des Moines, Angela Bradley, Salem, Oregon; two sons, Gil Larson, Corona, California, Terry Larson, Boise, Idaho, two sisters, Marcella Claude of Webster City, and Laura of Texas; two brothers, Charles Larson of Goodell, and Dean Larson of Stanhope.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters and three brothers.
