Michael D. Torrence, 57, of San Antonio, Texas, died Tuesday, January 9, 2001 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Kem officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery.

Michael David Torrence, son of Mark and Bernice Fonken Torrence, was born June 20, 1943 at Kamrar. Following graduation, he entered the United States Army. After returning from the army, he resided in the Des Moines and Cherokee areas. He moved to Texas in the early 1980's. In 1987, he moved to San Antonio where he worked as an appliance salesman for several years.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Chris Burns of Ankeny, son, Mark Torrence of Cherokee, sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Maynard Klosterbuer, Omaha, Ne. He was preceded in death by his parents.
