Luella Wilson, 81, Iowa Falls, a former Duncombe resident, died Monday, January 8, 2001 at the Scenic Manor Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Schoening and Gina Spohnheimer, ministry assistant, officiating. Burial will be in the Kingsley Cemetery in Kingsley, Iowa. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.

Luella Dora Gries, daughter of Julius and Bertha Gries, was born Oct. 8, 1919 at Holstein, Iowa. She received her education at Kingsley. On June 23, 1938, she married Robert LaRue Wilson at Kingsley. The couple resided at Sioux City. Following her husband's military discharge, they returned to Kingsley. The family moved to Duncombe in 1951. Mr. Wilson died January 15, 1967. She continued to reside in Duncombe. For several years, she worked as a waitress at Sylvia's Restaurant in Fort Dodge. She had resided at Scenic Manor Care Center since September of 2000.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wyman and Cindy Wilson of Vancouver, WA, daughters, Wauneta Loers of Clear Lake, Julie Green and fiance Jerry Schumaker of Alden, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brothers, Harry Gries of Kingsley, Lee Gries of Eugene, OR., several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Doug Loers in December of 2000, brothers Rudy and Ernie Gries.

She was a member of the Duncombe United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary of Duncombe.
