A.B. Cole, 90, longtime Webster City resident, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at his home one mile north of Webster City. He had been in ill health the past three years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Robert Scott officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Albert Beedle Cole, son of Orrin and Mary Cole, was born Aug. 15, 1869, at Meadville, Pa. At an early age, he moved with his parents to Story county. He received his elementary schooling in the schools of Story county, later attending high school at Ames. He later attended a telegraphy school in Kansas, after which he spent several years as a station agent for the Chicago and North Western and Burlington railroads.

He was united in marriage Feb. 25, 1892, to Charity A. Beard. Following his service with the railroad companies as a telegrapher, he engaged in farming in Iowa. He retired in 1920, and Mr. and Mrs. Cole moved to the present farm home north of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1930.

Sept. 1, 1931, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Minnie Beard, who preceded him in death in 1949.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by three stepsons and three step-daughters: Dan Beard, Forrest Beard and John L. Beard, all of Long Beach, Calif; Mrs. Opal Glaman, Mrs. R.G. (Hazel) Pringle and Mrs. Clifford (Vera) Rasmussen, all of Webster City; six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters: Fred Cole of Webster City, Mrs. Lulu Switzer of Des Moines and Miss Alta Cole of Los Angeles, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cole was baptized in the Christian faith and was a member of the Church of Christ of Webster City.
