Howard L. Olson, 67, of Jewell died January 2, 2020 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. He donated his body to the University of Iowa Medical School and a memorial service will be held at a later date this summer.

Howard was born on October 31, 1952 in Story City, Iowa to Howard and Georgia (Henson) Olson. He graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1971 and worked construction for many years and then for Iowa Select. Howard enjoyed going fishing, NASCAR and collecting stamps and wheat pennies. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and lived in Jewell all of his life.

Howard is survived by his mother, Georgia Bjustrom of Jewell; a brother, Ron (Sue) Olson of Jewell; three sisters, LaDonna (Randy) Boldon of Webster City, Brenda (Jose) Moreno of Jewell and Linda Graves of Ellsworth and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell is entrusted with arrangements.
