Marvin Gene DeWitt, 78, of Kamrar died December 2, 2019 at Mercy One in Des Moines. There are no services planned and burial will be at a later date at the Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, Minnesota.

Marvin was born on March 25, 1941 in Rochester, Minnesota to Phillip and Irene (Markham) DeWitt. He married Christine Gawlik on May 11, 1963. He raised turkeys all of his life living in Minnesota and Wisconsin until moving to Iowa. He has lived in the Kamrar area since 2000. Marvin enjoyed puzzles, working in his shed and working his large garden and sharing the produce from it.

He is survived by his wife, Christine of Kamrar; his three sons, Randy (Stacy) of Jewell, Rob of State Center and Richard (Mindy) of Boone; five grandchildren, Ashley, Nick, Brent, Kristen and Ashton; four step-grandchildren, Megan, Chase, Rachel and Cameron; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Lyle DeWitt; a sister, Nadine Ulring; a half-brother, Curt Bolles; two half-sisters, Sonja Ersland and Karen Rollie and a step brother, George Bolles.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Renee DeWitt.

Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell is entrusted with arrangements.
