December 25, 2019Duane R. "Huck" Arndt, 77, of Jewell, died December 21, 2019 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be Friday, December 27 at 2 p.m. at Jewell United Church of Christ. Burial will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.
Huck was born on May 16, 1942 in Cresco, Iowa to Walter and Mary (Wiepert) Arndt. He married Judy Weise on November 3, 1963. He worked for Hamilton County as a Maintainer for 20 years and then drove a truck for Ben Shinn Trucking after that.
He was a member of Jewell United Church of Christ. Huck enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of Jewell; a son, Kevin (Jolene) Arndt of Jewell; a daughter, Penny Rholl of Jewell; three grandchildren, Brandan, Dustin and Skylar and three great grandchildren, Savannah, Braxton and Huck.
Huck was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Gage and a sister, Jeri Myers.
Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell is entrusted with arrangements.
